Golden Key Ice Cream Social General Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 14, 2004
Hilltop
8:00pm

1. All Executive meetings will be held in the Birchwood Room of Davies. 8:15-9:30
2. Golden Key will be going pumpkin carving at Fanny Hill on Wednesday, Sept. 29th from 5:30-7:30. All interested persons should e-mail Rachel Anderson at andersre. Feel free to invite friends!
3. We need volunteers!
   1. We need volunteers to work (cheer on athletes, etc.) at the Regional Bowling Tournament for special olympians.
      • One tournament is on Saturday, Oct. 16. We need workers for all three shifts. Shift A: 10-2:30; Shift B: 2:30-6; Shift C: All day, 10-6 (lunch provided). If you are able to help, e-mail Sarah Lackore at lackorsm by September 27th.
      • The second tournament is on Saturday, Nov.6. We need workers for all four shifts. Shift A: 8:30-11:45; Shift B: 11:45-2:45; Shift C: 2:45- 6:30; Shift D: All day, 8:30-6:30 (lunch provided). If you are able to help, e-mail Sarah Lackore at lackorsm by October 18th.
   2. We need volunteers to read to ESL children in the Eau Claire Community. You are only obligated to read for 1 hour a week, and schedules with families are flexible. Usual reading times are anywhere from 4:30 to 8 pm. If you are interested in helping out with the rewarding program e-mail Sarah Lackore by Sept. 21st! That is Next Tuesday!!
4. Future Activities to look forward to:
   • Serving at the Community Table in November: Feeding a hot meal to area citizens.
   • Volunteering at Safe and Sound after school program: Playing games with kids and helping out with homework.
5. System of awards and points
   • 10 points a year are needed to be considered an active member, thus making a member eligible for scholarships
   • after a person has achieved 10 pts. there will be prizes for certain levels of participation. These rewards include movie tickets, dinner gift certificates, and free graduation cords.
   • attending a meeting = 1 pt
   • joining a committee = 1pt
   • being an officer = 2pts
   • participating in a service or social activity = 2pts
   • going to a conference = 4pts
