Golden Key Executive Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, October 4, 2006
Oak Room, Davies Center
5:00pm

  1. Graduate and Professional School Fair
    1. Committee Updates:
      1. Food and Hospitality: Everything is arranged with foodservice. There will be a breakfast (muffins, bagels, juice, coffee, etc.) buffet and a taco bar buffet along with a "killer" desert. We will need a person near the Gold Room to monitor and direct traffic to the food.
      2. Publicity:
        • Anne brought a poster for the fair with the logo and list of schools on it. We still need to add a couple more schools to the list.
        • Poster Distribution
          • Pay service center to hang 24 approved 11x17 signs
          • Erik will distribute 8.5x11 to career services, advising, and office of multicultural affairs
          • members responsible for distributing other 11x17s in residence halls and around campus in other halls
          • table tents need to be printed and distributed (aprox 400). We will not include the list of schools, but will include the website.
        • Press Release:we will be having a university press release closer to the date! This way we will be on the front page of the website!
      3. Registration
        • Becky has created a database with the name of school, representative, and title; this will be used to check people in. Anne is working on the booklet (if anyone would like to help they can!). The booklet needs a cover design, a map on the back, and a description of all the schools on the inside.
        • We will need to make small laminate signs for the schools at each table. Paula's office has the lamination tools.
        • We discussed setting up the tables in a vertical fashion in Zorn
    2. Upcoming meetings
      • we will have two general meetings next week Monday (Oct 9th) 6-7pm and Thurs (Oct 12th) 5:30-6:30pm (rooms to be announced). At these meetings will be "work-up" time for grad school affairs, scheduling, etc.
      • We will host a meeting the night before the grad fair Wednesday Oct. 18 from 5-7pm (there was talk of food) to make sure everything is solidified (sorry I couldn't think of a better word, too many chemistry classes).
  2. Honors Banquet
    1. Update from Lori: The votes are in! Unfortunately I did not get the names all down (e-mail Lori for list if interested).
      • We still need someone to volunteer as a pianist or photographer!
      • If you will be attending the induction ceremony October 28th e-mail Lori! scardill@uwec.edu we would love your help, and you get free food!
  3. Annual Plan
    • Jim passed around our annual plan to look over, it is due tomorrow, so e-mail him tonight if you would like to add any service projects!!!!!
