Eau Claire: House Stories

The number of stories of houses indicates when they were built. Multi-story houses emphasize verticality which was characteristic of late 19th and early 20th century houses. One-and-half-story houses became popular during the 1930s and by the late 1950s one-story suburban Ranch styles became the most common.
The map shows the average number of stories per city block.
