Eau Claire: Residential Assessed Values

In May 1978 -- when this housing survey was started -- the assessed value of a house was theoretically 29.58 percent of its market value. By 1981 all houses were assessed at "full" market value, as required by Wisconsin state law. Data in this graph, therefore, show only the relative, not absolute, value of houses as of the late 1970s.
