Nominations for a 2013 Distinguished Scholar Fifteen years ago the Ethnic Geography Specialty Group (EGSG) established the EGSG Distinguished Scholar Award to honor outstanding scholars in the field of ethnic geography. Past recipients of the award include: Terry G. Jordan, Wilbur Zelinsky, R. Cole Harris, Allen G. Noble, James P. Allen, Michael P. Conzen, Richard L. Nostrand, Susan Hardwick, Thomas D. Boswell, Daniel Arreola, David Ley, Curtis Roseman, Joe Darden, Kay J. Anderson, Ceri Peach, Fred Boal, Ron Johnston, Carlos Teixeira, Wei Li, and James Tyner. As of 2003, nomination of the distinguished scholars is open to the entire membership. The committee will make its selection based on review of the nominees updated CV (email or online). Nomination of non-EGSG members or foreign scholars is welcome. A formal announcement of the recipients will be made at the EGSG annual business meeting. Nominations for a 2013 Distinguished Scholar are now being accepted. Please send nominations to Carlos Teixeira (Awards Committee Chair) (email carlos.teixeira@ubc.ca), no later than January 15, 2012 so that the committee will have sufficient time to make a final decision. |
