The use of stucco as a wall covering reached its peak in the 1920s;
indeed, this decade alone accounted for 37% of all the stucco used in Eau
Claire! Reddish brick, on the other hand, only became important
in the 1920s. The reddish bricks of the 1950s-1970s are lighter in
color and smoother in texture. From the 1950s through the 1970s red brick
overtook stucco as a popular building material.
