Eau Claire: Reddish Brick Walls

Darker shades of red were popular in the 1920s-1930s.
Also, 1920s and 30s brick was much rougher in appearance compared to either the late 1800s or 1950s bricks. Reddish fieldstones were also popular for ascents along sidewalks and building materials with stucco.

Lighter reds and thinner bricks were in fashion during the 1950s.

A map of Eau Claire shows a fairly even distribution of reddish brick houses throughout the city.
Compare reddish brick to stucco as a wall material.
