Original
aluminum siding appeared on houses in the late 1950s but most of this wall
material has been used to cover previous materials. Houses with
thin wooden clapboard would be a likely candidate for low maintenance siding
as well as homes with wide clapboard for those who want to modernize the
look of their house.
