Where would you expect to find the highest concentration of wide clapboard?
Why are the percentages of wide clapboard so low in
the oldest sections of Eau Claire?
Since this survey was completed in the early 1980s,
what changes would you expect to see in regard to the width of
the siding?
Wide wooden siding is
typical of post-1940s housing, illustrated so well by this map. The
1950-1960s suburbs predominate with this siding, but houses built during
these decades in older neighborhoods, a process called in-filling, were also
covered with wide clapboard.
