Eau Claire: Wooden Shingle Roofs

Where are wooden shingles located in Eau Claire? Why does this pattern of spatial distribution appear?

Wooden shingles are found in either the oldest sections of town or in the newer suburbs. The oldest sections of town show a high percentage of shingles because it was the only roofing material available at the time. Newer sections of Eau Claire also show that wooden shingles are being used. This is due to the fact that wooden shingles are now used to amplify the look of a home and to increase it's value.
