The survey, which produced this data, started in the oldest parts of Eau
Claire and went out in all directions. It covered housing characteristics
for about 110 years, from the 1870s to the 1970s. The newest, suburban areas are not included. Except in the 1920s and 1950s, each decade
contributed less than 10 percent of the houses in Eau Claire. Very
few of the oldest (1860s) houses are still standing; hence they represent
only 2 percent of all houses in the city. |
