Eau Claire: Tenure by Household Income, Renter vs. Owner

These maps compare renters and owners by there household income. Renters who bring in less than $10,000 to their household tend to live in student housing, the northside hill and river fronts, and the area south of the University.  These areas tend to be lower income, especially in the student housing area where the students are going to school and often only working parttime.  There is a tract to the east of the Third Ward that has a high number of owned houses bringing in less than $10,000.  There are a lot of retired folks living out there, so their income would be relatively low.  There are twice as many renters bringing home under $10,000 than owners.

The majority of renters and owners with household incomes over $100,000 are located on the outskirts of the city.  There are far more owners with incomes over $100,000 than there are renters with the same income.
