Eau Claire: Percent Gas Heating by Block Group Using 2000 Census Data

"Natural gas is one of the cheapest forms of energy available to the residential consumer.  In fact, natural gas has historically been much cheaper than electricity as a source of energy... Patterns--

Gas heating is the overwhelmingly popular choice of heating source in the city of Eau Claire.  Fifteen of the block groups shown on the map get 64%-86% of their heating from gas and thirty-three block groups get 43-63% of their heating from gas.  Of the fifty-five block groups shown on the map, only four receive less than 22%of their heat from gas heating.
