Electric Heating
|
"Electric baseboard heaters
consume a lot of electricity. Each baseboard heater
normally requires its own dedicated electric circuit.
The easy installation of this wiring is a factor in
evaluating the cost of the system. In newly constructed
structures or buildings, baseboard heating usually has
the lowest initial cost compared to other systems, but
often has very high operating costs."

Patterns
The highest concentration of homes that use electric heating is found in
the south central section of the map below, which is the location of a
series of apartment buildings. The high density area is
hyperlinked to a Google Earth image of the
location of the particular block group.
The fact that the apartment
buildings are a high volume of people living in a smaller area has
enough number power to sway the block group’s outcome to a majority of
electric heat users.
