Las Vegas, Nevada

The newest casinos on The Strip are geographically very distinctive. European, and particularly Mediterranean, themes predominate: Pairs, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, and Venetian. The  newest casinos all have a full range of services now: many various forms of gambling in the casinos, themed hotel lobbies, hotel rooms, swimming pools, fast-food and sit-down restaurants (cheap and upscale), entertainment venues (singers, magicians, dancers, singers, animal acts,  flower shows, art galleries, and aquariums), themed shopping arcades (ordinary and supper expensive brand-name stores), wedding chapels, parking structures. The Strip engages the senses through architecture, shapes, colors, lights (especially at night), sounds (from the slot machines, water falls, and musique), performance music, displays of consumer goods, food, alcohol, and semi-naked and provokedly-posed women -- in short, selling the fun of sinning within the context of Christian morality with its seven deadly sins.
