Varanasi-ghats Starting at sunrise from the Dasashvamedha Ghat, we traveled by row-boat up river as far as the Panchkot Ghat and then down river ending at funeral Manikarnika Ghat with its large supply of firewood. We walked out through the narrow alleys near the Vishwanath temple with the cows in the old city, where curd (soared milk) and milk are for sale, among other foods and dry goods.
