Cochin: Hindu temple
-- The ornate figures of gods on the tower is typical of South India
Hindu temples. Ever temple has a tank, a water supply for bathing before
worship and for local supplies, although today most of them are no longer used
-- replaced by public pumps and/or running water in homes. Vendors inside the
temple grounds sell offerings of coconuts, flowers (marigolds in
particular), icons, incense, and Hindu religious books. Schools
are also found attached to temple compounds.
