The rolling hills of Holmes County, Ohio
(the largest yellow area on the map), are ideal for small-scale
diversified farming, such as the Amish practice.
Amish farmsteads are large in this dairy
farming area. Clothing are dried outside or under cover and large
gardens abound.
Going grocery shopping with horse-drawn
buggies. Solar panels are used here for electric lighting. The
telephone book in Berlin shows two pages of Yoders!
