Students will connect with the people around them by:

• Learning to interact with faculty and staff in and outside the classroom.
• Building lasting relationships with their peers.
• Learning of and participating in opportunities to serve others in the broader Eau Claire community.
• Understanding and exploring how the issues of equity, diversity, and inclusiveness affect themselves and others.

Students will connect with their new environment by:

• Developing awareness of and the ability to navigate the array of university resources and the broader Eau Claire community.
• Participating in organized co-curricular activities or groups.
• Participating in organized out-of-class experiences and relating those experiences to their own liberal education.

Students will connect with the development of their academic purpose by:

• Understanding the ideals of a liberal education.
• Inspiring and motivating improved behaviors that lead to academic success.
• Understanding the role of advisers and learning how to make the most of advising interactions toward the goal of creating individual learning goals and identifying plans for achieving them.
