TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Teach the following introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses: American National Politics, State and Local Politics, Legislative Politics, Group and Minority Politics, and Judicial Politics.  Duties also include academic advising of students, supervising student internships and service learning, participating in faculty governance, and performing community service activities.

Duties also included academic advising of students and clubs, supervising internships and independent studies, participating in Faculty Senate committee work, and performing community service activities.

1997 to present Internship Coordinator

Responsibilities include meeting with interested students and referring them to appropriate internship sites, overseeing the administration of active political science and criminal justice internships, maintaining contacts with previous internship sites, and developing future internship sites.

1993 to 1997 Administration of Justice Program Director
University of Pittsburgh at Bradford

Served as director for both the minor and major programs. Responsibilities included advising students, supervising internships, scheduling classes, and selecting and supervising faculty. Wrote the proposal to add Administration of Justice as a major to the program, created the proposed curriculum, and successfully defended it before University committees.

1994 to 1996 Faculty Senate Secretary
University of Pittsburgh at Bradford

Duties included writing and distributing minutes of Senate Council and Faculty Senate meetings, administering Faculty Senate elections, and compiling and organizing Faculty Senate committee records. Chaired committee’s efforts to overhaul Faculty Senate Constitution.

1991 to 1992 Assistant Book Review Editor

University of Texas at Austin

Duties included developing the book review procedure, updating a database of books and reviewers, assisting in the selection of books for review and reviewers, monitoring the review deadlines, and preparing the book reviews for publication.
