The city of San Antonio has a Mayor and 10 Districts.

Mayor Phil Hardberger:

He was elected Mayor on June 7, 2005 for the city of San Antonio. He was the first in San Antonio to be elected Mayor that was not on the City Council. He has been involved in capital projects such as: San Antonio River improvements, Main Plaza,  and the Vooelcker Park ect… In 2007 he was reelected by 77% of the vote. With the hiring of Sheryl Sculley by Mayor Hardberger helped along the development of a two year balanced budget. This was all done by Sheryl Sculley. With the all the improvements Mayor Hardberger is doing is due to his strong believe in San Antonio’s historic beauty. He wants to bring the community together in this process. The better the community is as a whole the closer the community will be. With this effort Mayor Hardberger wants to create hiking, and bike trails next to the San Antonio River. Since it’s a main attraction for the people of San Antonio and for tourists as well. All together Mayor Hardberger is one to make the community better. This is by community projects, and just making the city a better place to live. On a side note Mayor Hardberger is an adventurer, pilot, sailor, and even a race car driver.

District 1

Mary Alice P. Cisneros is the Council of District 1. Mary Alice P. Cisneros has been in District 1 her whole life. She was elected to District 1 in May of 2007. She is has served as the chairman of Communities in Schools, and she is the chair in the Southland College Scholarship Program. She is also gives great interested and supports the San Antonio Yourth Literacy Board, member for the Mayor’s Commission for Children and Families, chair of the J.C. Penney Golden Rule Awards, and many more. She has also won the 1985 Outstanding Democratic Woman of the Year, and has been inducted in the San Antonio Hall of Fame. Mary Alice P. Cisneros is a very involved and loving person.

District 2

Sheila McNeil is the Council for District 2. She has been serving her community for well over 17 years. She is the chair for the San Antonio-Bexar County Regional Metropolitan Planning Organization, City Council Infrastructure, Growth Committee, and finally the Inner-City Tax Increment Refinance for Zone #11. She has created the Education on Demand, and this is for the success of the students. She is involved in a lot of projects and this is to create a safer community to live in. Just like the Mayor McNeil wants to bring a more developed community. This is to bring a more developed community and to make it a much prettier site for the residents and for tourists.

District 3

Jennifer V. Ramos is the Council for District 3. She just became Council representative on January 17, 2008. Ramos was born and raised in San Antonio, and still lives in San Antonio. She has been involved in the ACC Board of Trustees, and she been a big factor for the $450 million Alamos Community Colleges bond program. She has also been very involved in the promoting for college education for high school students. With the ACC she is involved in the legal affairs, and the student accountability.

District 4

Philip A. Cortez is the Council for District 4. Councilmen Cortez is a lifelong member of District 4, and he won the election for District 4 by 71%. Councilmen Cortez has served seven years for the United States Air Force Reserve’s 433rd Alamo Wing that is out of the Lackland Air Force Base. He is a commissioned Second Lieutenant and he knows the importance of the public and serving the public. He plans on promoting economic development, efficiently meet all the goals for high quality infrastructure, and he wants to improve the services that we already offer for the polic and fire departments. As well as helping out the parks and libraries.

District 5

Lourdes Galvan in the Council for District 5. She is a lifelong resident of District 5.
Here is a link showing her Experience, volunteering, and much more. Councilwomen Galvan is well known for her volunteering, and experience, thus making her well suited for the District 5 job.

District 6

Delicia Herrera holds the title for Council for District 6. She is a lifelong resident for District 6.
She is very committed in serving her community. She served on the Board of the Edgewood Family Network, member for the Los Jardines Neighborhood Association as well. She does teach class in the community, which is centered on Protesting and what you need to know about Property Tax Appraisal, and the U.S. Citizenship exam. Councilwomen Herrera  wants to strengthen community involvement in District 6, and wants a better  education, and economic involvement. This will end up making the local economy stronger, making life a lot easier for the residents for District 6.

District 7

Justin Rodriguez is the councilman for District 7. He was elected Council for District 7 on May 12, 2007. He served as president of Jefferson Neighborhood Association, and this was for the former board member for San Antonio Children’s Shelter. Plus as the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio. He is a very active in the Council of Urban Boards of Education. He has interest in race and minority in schools, and has achieved the minority achievement gap. Councilmen Rodriguez has won the Congressional Award for Outstanding Service to the Community. This is due to the involvement in the Meals on Wheels program, and for his citizenship as a volunteer in his community. He is also one of San Antonio’s rising stars according to the San Antonio Business Journal.

District 8

Diane G. Cibrian is the Councilwoman for District 8. She is the Chair of the Infrastructure and Growth Committee. She is also a member for Quality of Life, BioMed SA, and Joint Land Use Agreement Study Committees. She is very involved in non-profit organizations. These programs are range for the San Antonio Development Agency to the Girl Scouts where she is a board member. She is a member of the National Association for Housing, and Redevelopment Officials. Councilwoman Cibrian is very committed in working for the public. She has also served as a board member for Texas State Head Start Foundation, and many more civic programs. She is also on the California State Legislature. She is a very involved leader in her community and wants the very best.

District 9

Louis E. Rowe is the Councilman for District 9. He has elected positions in the San Antonio River Authority, Board of Directors, and Chairmen of the Board from February 2005 to just recently January 2008. Councilmen Rowe has a long list of Professional Associations and memberships, and a long list of Charitable Organizations, and a long list of Recognitions and Awards. Councilman Rowe is very involved and has a lot to show for what he has done as a Councilman for District 9, and has a lot show before he was Councilmen for District 9.

District 10

John G. Clamp is the Councilman for District 10. He is a teacher for the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District. He is also a long time resident of District 10. Councilman Clamp is a owner, and broker for Landmark Realty, and Capital. Councilman Clamp has a lot of Former Community experience, and he has a lot of City Council appointments. Some of the main City Council appointments are Public Safety Committee, City Investment Committee, and Quality of Life Committee and many more. His former community experience includes President for UTSA Roadrunner Club, and President for District 10 Alliance, and so on. Councilman Clamp’s major goals are to create and implement the San Antonio Street Endowment Fund. This will maintain and improve the streets, drainage, and alleys.
