El Paso City has a large Hispanic and Latino population one of the main
languages spoken is Spanish. As you can see 71.3% of the population
speaks a language other than English. Also, the education of around
half of the total population is a High School degree at 229,053 or
68.6%. Less than half of the population having a High School degree has
continued on to receive a Bachelor’s degree at 61,217 or 18.3 %.

Unfortunately, El Paso has its fair share of poverty. The number of
individuals below the poverty line is at 124,281 or 22.2% of the working
population. El Paso city holds in itself the majority of individuals
below the poverty line. The El Paso area has a great deal of people in
poverty, but the city has the largest concentration.
