The 32nd annual University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Holiday Concert will be presented as a gift to the community by the music and theatre arts department and the UW-Eau Claire Foundation at 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, in Zorn Arena.Tickets for the event are free. Check for ticket availability by calling the University Service Center at 715-836-3727. The concert will feature both individual and combined performances by six university music ensembles: the Wind Symphony, conducted by Richard Mark Heidel; the Symphonic Choir and the Women's Concert Chorale, conducted by Alan Rieck; the University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Nobuyoshi Yasuda; and the Concert Choir and The Singing Statesmen, directed by Gary Schwartzhoff. The concert will conclude in traditional fashion with participation by all ensembles and the audience in Ross Hastings' arrangement of "The Joy of Christmas," a setting of familiar carols that was commissioned for the Holiday Concert and premiered in 1989.
