Naming Opportunities
Since the Blugold Football program already has the John Kell Football Endowment Fund, the goal of the First-and-10 Campaign is to increase this endowment and provide for one super fund that will generate significant income for the football program.
To recognize significant gifts and commitments to the First-and-10 Campaign, the following naming opportunities are offered. These naming opportunities do not necessarily reflect the direct expenses associated with the area but rather recognition of significant generosity. Outright gifts and commitments of up to five years will be factored into the naming opportunities.
- $100,000 Naming the Season
Example: The 2008-09 Blugold Season is made possible through the generosity of Buddy Blugold.
- $75,000 Head Coach Position
Example: The Blugold head coach position is underwritten through the generosity of Buddy Blugold.
- $50,000 Assistant Coach Position
Eight naming opportunities, including assistant and graduate assistant coaches, would be available at this level.
- $50,000 Specific Player Position Group for Two Years
Example: All the linebackers will be sponsored for two years.
- $25,000 Specific Player Position Group for One Year
Example: All linebackers will be sponsored for one year.
- $25,000 Underwrite One Out-Of-State Game in A Season
The team is seeking to schedule at least one out-of-state/out-of-conference game each year.
- $25,000 One Starting Position for Three Years
Example: The starting quarterback position for three years is underwritten by Buddy Blugold.
- $10,000 One Starting Position for One Year
- $10,000 One Home Game
Example: The Blugold vs. Stout game is underwritten by Buddy Blugold.
- $5,000 One Away Game
Example: The travel expenses for a Blugold vs. UW-Stevens Point game at Point are underwritten by Buddy Blugold.
Annual Support Opportunities
Annual gifts up to $1,000 qualify for membership in the Quarterback Club. There are some special naming opportunities available:
$1,000 Name A Locker
A donor may name a locker in the Blugold Locker Room (a limited number of opportunities to place a name plate on a locker in the Blugold locker room are available).
$1,000 Outfit Two Players
Support the annual equipment expenses to outfit two players for a season.
$500 Outfit One Player
Support the annual equipment expenses to outfit one player for a season.
In addition, all donors to the First-and-10 Campaign will be honored with their names on a special recognition wall near the Blugold Football offices. The UW-Eau Claire Foundation also will recognize an individual gift/pledge of $10,000 or more ($25,000 or more for corporate gifts) with membership in the Circle of Excellence. The Circle of Excellence display lists the names of all major donors to the Foundation over the past 50 years.
