Faculty excellence
UW-Eau Claire is recognized for its excellent faculty and is noted for its strong faculty-student collaborative research. Designated as the UW System Center of Excellence for Faculty and Undergraduate Student Research Collaboration, many student researchers working with faculty get the chance to publish in journals, meet experts and pursue their research through internships and off-campus study.
Enhancing faculty growth and development will encourage faculty-student collaborative efforts, retain faculty and aid in recruitment of new faculty. The UW-Eau Claire Foundation seeks funding to provide faculty fellowships throughout the university for faculty professional development. These fellowships will provide release time for professors to do research, including collaboration with students, and/or to attend conferences or participate in other development opportunities.
Funding levels for naming opportunities
To provide time for planning so departments can take full advantage of these fellowships, the Foundation seeks three-year commitments by supporters of the faculty fellowships initiative. Donors who support these fellowships at the following levels will have their names associated with the fellowships during the funding period. All of the following commitments to faculty fellowships will be recognized with membership in the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Circle of Excellence:
- $10,000 ($30,000 for three years) — Sponsor a faculty fellowship for a full year.
- $ 7,500 ($22,500 for three years) — Sponsor a faculty fellowship for a summer session or two fellowships for one semester.
- $ 5,000 ($15,000 for three years)— Make a three-year commitment to sponsor a faculty fellowship for one semester for three years.
