The
needs assessment and resulting strategic plan for the Fulfilling
the Promise of Excellence campaign identified six key areas
for investment by UW-Eau Claire’s alumni and friends:
Student success
Cost alone should not stand in the
way of dreams and aspirations. Investments
in student success through the Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence campaign will ensure that we continue to attract great students to our campus and that we provide a supportive environment to keep them here. Such investments also will make a UW-Eau Claire education accessible to more students with financial need.
Faculty and staff distinction
We seek investments to support and enhance the work of all our exceptional faculty and staff. An
upcoming challenge for UW-Eau Claire is the fact that one-third of our
faculty and staff will retire in the next 10 years. Additional resources
will be required to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff
in a highly competitive national marketplace. They will shape the university’s future.
Technology for learning
To succeed in our ongoing mission
of excellence in teaching and learning, UW-Eau Claire must keep pace
with the ever-changing nature of technology. Keeping up with today’s incredible advances enriches the intellectual give-and-take between faculty and students — the kind of exchange that makes for great learning.
Facility enhancements
While a university
campus is far more than a collection of buildings, the environment in
which students learn does make a difference. Increasingly, the university must raise a portion
of the cost of construction and renovation of its facilities. Private
gifts in support of facilities projects will ensure that the university’s physical structure keeps pace with its program and service needs.
Regional service opportunities
Because UW-Eau Claire is
a regional public university, any measure of our success must take into
account how well we contribute to the quality of life in our region. Through
private support, UW-Eau Claire can expand its roles as a catalyst for
economic and cultural development and as an interactive university in
the service of citizens, businesses, agencies and local governments.

Excellence Fund
Opportunities
for excellence abound, and we have to be able to seize the moment. The
Excellence Fund allows the university to do just that. Unrestricted
gifts to the Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence campaign become part of the Excellence Fund, which enables us to participate in new, often quickly arising opportunities and initiatives to better serve our students and our region.
