| Investing
in Students
and the Dreams They Pursue
The
true measure of any universitys success is student achievement
achievement not only in the classroom, but in the performing
arts, campus or community activities, academic research, athletics and,
ultimately, life after graduation. At UW-Eau Claire, all our efforts
are aimed at enhancing our students educational experience. Investments
in student success through the Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence
campaign will ensure that we continue to attract great students to our
campus and that we provide a supportive environment to keep them here.
Such investments also will make a UW-Eau Claire education accessible
to more students with financial need.
Cost alone should not stand in the
way of dreams and aspirations. For years, UW-Eau Claire has provided
thousands of first-generation college students with a life-changing
educational experience. Even today, approximately half of our incoming
freshmen each fall represent the first generation in their families
to pursue a college education. We want to ensure that they wont
be the last.
UW-Eau Claires Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence
campaign seeks private funding to support students with financial need
and to enhance student success by:
-
Providing more renewable scholarships that help students in their
educational pursuits throughout their attendance.
-
Engaging more students in faculty-student research and acquiring
the necessary updated equipment and technology to support this research.
-
Increasing the number of paid student internships.
-
Providing more scholarships and stipends for older, nontraditional
students.
-
Offering additional Blugold Fellowships, which provide scholarships,
stipends and faculty-student research experiences for eligible freshmen
and sophomores.
-
Establishing scholarships targeted to students pursuing degrees
in fields with a high need for qualified graduates.
-
Making international study-abroad programs more accessible.
-
Enhancing career advising and other support services to students
