Investing in Service
and the Community It Enriches

Quality of life. It’s a value people in the Chippewa Valley will always cherish. Because UW-Eau Claire is a regional public university, any measure of our success must take into account how well we contribute to the quality of life in our region.

Investing in Service and the community it enrichesWhile opportunities abound for increased cooperation between the university and the community, few of those can be supported with state funds. Through private support, UW-Eau Claire can expand its roles as a catalyst for economic and cultural development and as an interactive university in the service of citizens, businesses, agencies and local governments.

Only through the generosity of private donors can we seize opportunities like these to better serve the people of our region:

  • Improved access — through additional convenient class times and the use of distance education technology — to the university’s academic programs for part-time and other nontraditional students.

  • Increased offerings and customized training for area businesses and agencies seeking continuing education for their employees.

  • The endowment of the university’s service-learning program, which provides meaningful volunteer experiences for all students while supporting the vital work of community agencies. Endowing service-learning would ensure the future of this program, upon which many agencies depend to carry out their missions.

  • Collaborative economic and work-force research projects between the business community and UW-Eau Claire to determine opportunities for stronger university/business partnerships.
