Investing in Facilities
and the Learning Environments They Create

Wisconsin’s most beautiful campus. These words are often used to describe UW-Eau Claire. And while a university campus is far more than a collection of buildings, the environment in which students learn does make a difference. UW-Eau Claire’s scenic location along the Chippewa River provides a setting for a unique living and learning environment for our students, faculty and staff.

Investing in facilities and the learning environments they createBut space is at a premium. Increasingly, the university must raise a portion of the cost of construction and renovation of its facilities. Private gifts in support of facilities projects will ensure that the university’s physical structure keeps pace with its program and service needs. Private support also will help maintain our reputation as Wisconsin’s most beautiful campus.

UW-Eau Claire has created a campus facilities development plan to ensure that our learning environment is most conducive to a quality educational experience. This long-range plan, formed after detailed analysis of the space needs of each department and office, identifies facilities issues of campuswide significance.

The following are our immediate and most pressing facilities renovation needs:

  • Refurbished labs, studios and other centers for hands-on learning.

  • Theater renovations.

  • Modernized campus radio and TV broadcast studios.

  • Improved recreational athletic training facilities.

  • Campus beautification efforts, such as the addition of sculpture and other artwork.

  • Matching dollars for state building renovation funds.

The following new facilities projects are on UW-Eau Claire’s long-term “wish list”:

  • A new performing arts center.

  • Renovation and expansion of Zorn Arena.

  • A new building to house the College of Business.

  • An on-campus football stadium.
