| “I
look forward to making the most of the opportunities my benefactors
have helped to provide.”
John Henry is a May 2003 communication

Madeline and Karen King Memorial Scholarship, supported by Thomas

Q&A
with John Henry:
Background information:
I am a first-year graduate student
in UW-Eau Claire’s communication disorders program. I graduated
from UW-Eau Claire in May 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in
communication disorders and will graduate in May 2005 with a master’s
degree. In addition to the Victor, Madeline and Karen King Memorial
Scholarship, I was fortunate enough to receive a graduate assistantship
from UW-Eau Claire.
Why
I chose UW-Eau Claire: I first visited UW-Eau Claire
as a senior in high school and remember being especially impressed
with its beautiful campus as well as the positive and welcoming
environment. My first impression of UW-Eau Claire has remained unchanged
since that first visit. When my education here ends, I will have
many reasons to leave this college with confidence, pride, and the
anticipation of many future opportunities.
My postgraduation
goals: Upon receiving my master’s degree,
I hope to work in a medical setting, preferably in a children’s
rehabilitation hospital. After gaining experience in the field,
I anticipate working in an administrative position that will allow
me to positively impact the lives of many people.
How
donors' generosity has made a difference in my life:
With the increasing demands of being a graduate student, I am extremely
grateful for the support of this scholarship, which has helped to
make this adjustment an easier one.
What
I'd like to tell my benefactors: I am extremely
appreciative of the support of Tom and Debra King and the Victor,
Madeline and Karen King Memorial Scholarship. Through hard work
and dedication I look forward to making the most of the opportunities
they have helped to provide.
