Patrick Day was born and raised in Helena, Montana. He attended the University of Montana-Missoula (1982-86), where he earned a B.A. in French and English. After teaching English in Marseille (1986-87), he returned to UM-Missoula and earned an M.A. in French. He attended Tulane University (New Orleans), where he earned a Ph.D. in French (specialization in nineteenth century poetry) in 1993. He was an assistant professor of French at Wabash College (1994-98). He is currently an associate professor of French at UWEC. Teaching and research interests include French modern literature, francophone literature (Africa, the Islands, Quebec), and world literature in English translation. |
