The comprehensive major in teaching leads to licensure to teach Spanish in Early Childhood through Adolescence classrooms (formerly grades 6-12). Students must be admitted to the School of Education and complete the teaching requirements there.


MINOR: LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES

The Latin American Studies minor consists of 24 semester credits, including: 9 credits in Spanish beyond SPAN 201, to include SPAN 202 and SPAN 352; 15 credits in the humanities and social sciences, including LAS 150 (3 credits); summer study abroad program in Cuernavaca or one summer session of Spanish language immersion study at an accredited institute of higher education in Latin America.
