Membership in the UWEC Figure Skating Club is open to all
students officially enrolled at UWEC. University staff and
faculty members may participate in club activities as non-voting
and non-office holding members.
The Figure Skating Club offers two types of memberships.
Club Member: Skaters join the club to skate individually.
Punch cards are available for purchase which allow members
to skate on various ice sessions at Hobbs Ice Arena.
These include both freestyle and moves in the field sessions;
costs of cards are for five sessions
.
Costs include:
Membership fee: $20 per semester
USFS membership: price varies
Freestyle card: $50-60, Moves card: $30-40
Synchro Team Member: Skaters join the University's synchronized
skating team. All students are welcome to join, no matter their previous
skating experience.
However, the team does hold try-outs at
the beginning of the school year to distinguish a competition line.
In the past this line has
consisted of 8-16 skaters, other members
who wished to participate
became alternates for the team.
Costs include:
Membership Dues: $100 per semester
USFS membership: price varies
Required Apparel: approx. $50 for new members
Tights: approx. $30
