Our Grandmas Marathon Times and Places from 1977

 

Splits from this year. As you can see Jim and I ran together the whole way.

The humidity at 7:30am was 90%. The temp was 65 and rose up into the 80's. I think Jim and I stopped racing after 2 miles and then just had fun (see pictures). Also note that the Evans', including Al, are pretty good 20 milers, but aren't good for much more.

This year we dressed as Prefontaine, complete with short shorts and REAL sideburns and mustaches, Click here for more pictures.

Those that called out"Go Ducks", Go Oregon" or even "Go Packers" didn't know. Those over 50 and younger track kids shouted out "Go Pre". We even saw a guy on the side of the road with a "Stop Pre" t-shirt.

One group of drunk college kids started chanting "Matching Outfits"...so I drank their beer.

One guy asked us if we had jobs; he thought we looked like 70's porno stars.
