ESL: TESTIMONIALS

Feedback from Former ESL Students

“ESL 160 gave me information about American culture so I learned a lot. And it helped to understand American culture. Both classes I took helped me to improve my English. ESL 305 allowed me to improve my writing skills. I have to do an internship abroad where I will need to use my English skills. So I enjoyed this class.”

Feedback from a Visiting Scholar

I'm Angela, an exchange scholar from Jinan University, China. This semester, I sat in Ms. Adler's ESL 201 [Integrated Language Skills]. During these 12 weeks, I learnt a lot. And Ms. Adler's teaching approach impressed me deeply. First, this is a real student-centered class in which students were initiated and motivated by the instructor. Next, the course focused a lot on all the language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Especially, in writing, the remodifying approach is very helpful. Third, Ms. Adler is a very diligent and devoted teacher who does a lot of work for the students and in her research on teaching approaches.
