ESL/EFL Faculty Positions for Men and Women
Starting August and November 2007
Please read this announcement in its entirety
before sending in your resume
Background: Soon to become a university, Al Yamamah College, with state-of the-art facilities and excellent support services, offers a North American-style education and curriculum in English for men and women in two separate divisions. In partnership with Al Yamamah, Saudi INTERLINK Language Center (SILC) provides preparative intensive English and academic preparation programs during the “Foundation Year” and business English throughout the students' stay at the College. The SILC program is based on the same humanistic and holistic theories of education as those used in the INTERLINK U.S. centers. At the core of INTERLINK's success in English language training is an abiding respect for and commitment to the students themselves as well as an overarching mission to bridge the distances between countries and cultures by enhancing communication skills.
SILC is seeking creative and flexible educators who are comfortable with and can adapt to an experiential, project- and needs-based program. They should feel comfortable in a flexible system of instruction that allows an eclectic approach to teaching and learning. This system is informed by a wide range of research in the field of language learning and held together by a number of distinct yet interrelated pedagogical principles.
During its first year of operation, enrollment started with 150 students, reaching approximately 400 students in its second year. Enrollment for the fall 2006 was over 400 students for men and 240 for women. The growth and the high interest in the success of the College by community and government leaders are helping the College achieve its goals in a much shorter than expected period of time. The enrollment for the fall 2007 semester is expected to surpass 800 students.
Responsibilities : The teacher's primary responsibility is to help students learn English either in preparation for academic courses at the College or for professional and personal purposes. Teachers may also be required to teach classes offered to outside institutions and to members of the business community or general public as part of the teaching load. Specific responsibilities include: 20 hours of weekly instruction in two-hour blocks – one focusing on reading and writing and one on communication skills; advising students on their progress; assisting students with study skills, time-management and learning strategies; helping program administrators with curriculum review, revision, ongoing assessment, orientation, scheduling, and placement; and serving on College committees, participating in program meetings, and in off-campus activities and events;

After you have learned more about us and if you still think our institution is the right organization for you, then follow the application procedure exactly as outlined in this announcement. NB: Applicants either not meeting the qualifications listed above or not following the application procedures as outlined above will not be acknowledged. All qualified applicants will receive an acknowledgment and further information on the program and the selection process in 1-2 days. Footprints Recruiting, Inc. We are a teacher placement and support agency based in Vancouver , Canada. Footprints works with public school boards in South Korea and China as well as reputable private schools in South Korea, Taiwan and China. We have found that many of these organizations, such as the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, require that all applicants they consider have either an Education degree or accredited TESL/TEFL certification. Unfortunately, due to governmental restrictions placed on teaching visas, we are only able to work with applicants that are native English speakers.
We are a teacher placement and support agency run by and for teachers. Every employee at Footprints has taught for at least a year abroad. We have employees that have taught in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and South America.
Footprints will not only assist graduates in securing a placement but we will also walk them through the visa process, assist them in organizing their flights and provide with ongoing support throughout their contract. We understand the stresses, because we have been there. We have a number of excellent opportunities available starting this month that we would like to introduce to recent graduates. Please contact me at careers@footprintsrecruiting.com if you have any questions.
