Scott Oates

Scott Oates joined the English Department in 1999 after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Utah. Scott teaches courses in English education, linguistics, and composition. Prior to coming to Eau Claire, he lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he taught in junior high schools, high schools, a community college, and the University of Utah. His intellectual interests include English education; assessment of student learning; rhetoric and composition, and literacy and culture. Currently, he is the Director of University Assessment at UW Eau Claire.
