Welcome to the English Graduate Department

With a one-to-one student/faculty ratio, our graduate English program offers hands-on learning and research opportunities with an engaged and professionally distinguished faculty. Through research and teaching collaborations, graduate students and faculty form a supportive learning community that advances our students’ broad professional goals. These goals include: refining communication skills for industry and professional writing careers; advancing analytic and theoretical training for doctoral programs in such fields as literature, linguistics, theory, rhetoric, composition or film; and reinvigorating and deepening the literary and pedagogical foundations of high school English teachers.
