Departmental Student Assistants
The department currently employs nine students who work for various department members or in the department office. The pay for these jobs ranges from $6.00-$7.00/hr depending on experience. Student assistants usually work between 6-10 hrs per week.
Student/Faculty Collaborative Research
The department typically employs eight to ten student researchers over an academic year. The grants, which provide funding for these projects, come from the Differential Tuition Program and are administered by the ORSP. In addition to valuable experience and course credit, students earn about $1,200 over a semester of research.
Mentoring/Tutoring
The department employs three to four junior and senior students to hold regular tutoring hours for Principles and Introductory students. The tutor earns $7.00/hr and typically works three to four hours per week.
