Cans Across America Program

Donation information

Blugold Dining is excited to team up with the UW-Eau Claire campus and community to raise over 6,000 pounds of food in this year’s Cans Across America food drive to benefit the Feed My People food bank in Eau Claire.

Making a Donation:
Donations will be accepted on Thursday, November 12 in all UW-Eau Claire dining areas. Donations from the community are welcome. Those wishing to contribute may make their donations most conveniently at Marketplace, on the lower level of Davies Center. Marketplace is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, November 12. Group Participation:
UW-Eau Claire student groups and departments are welcome to make group donations. As a special incentive for group participation, prizes will be awarded. The top student organization or residence hall donating the most food per person will win a specialty bar (taco bar, pizza party, asain buffet, bbq/picnic) from Blugold Catering. The academic department or administrative office donating the most food per person will receive a $15 gift card to be used in any of our dining locations or a $5 gift card and two movie tickets.

You may register your group by visiting the Blugold Dining office in Davies Center, room 227.

World Record Information:
The current Guinness World Record for “Largest Food Drive by a Non-Charitable Organization in a 24 Hour Period (Multiple Locations)” is 396,832 pounds 1 ounce. Last year at UW-Eau Claire we raised 2,947 pounds and 367,987 pounds was raised in partnership with other campus nationally.
