Dr. Alan Gallaher officially retired this last May. He joined our faculty in the fall of 1989. Originally from Appleton, WI, he completed his baccalaureate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and his master's at the University of Minnesota. After working in rehabilitation centers in St. Paul, he attended Northwestern University where he received his Ph.D. Prior to coming to Eau Claire, Dr. Gallaher taught at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, and at the Pennsylvania State University. At Eau Claire, he taught courses in neurology and neurologically related disorders, as well as some foundation courses in phonetics and speech & hearing science. He supervised graduate students working with neurologically impaired adults in the Center for Communication Disorders. Dr. Gallaher severed for several years as the CSD Director of Clinical Services and the CSD Graduate Program Coordinator.
