So what is the
Concert Dance Company? The
Concert Dance Company is a group of between 25-40 students at the University
of Wisconsin Eau Claire that performs twice per year. Our shows are mainly
student choreographed, and also include one piece choreographed by our
advisor, Toni Poll-Sorensen, as well as a guest choreographer piece. Our concerts have a contemporary basis,
however we look for all different styles of dance. How do I join? In
order to join the Concert Dance Company, you will need to audition in the
fall (Saturday, September 12). The
Audition will consist of four classes: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. Each dancer is expected to arrive at the
audition early to register, and stay the entire time. What if I can’t do
one of the styles listed for the audition? The
CDC looks for enthusiastic dancers who are willing to try new things. We ask that you try all styles, even if you
are unfamiliar with one of them. How do I
choreograph for the CDC? Choreographer
auditions for the Concert Dance Company will take place in the fall (Friday,
September 11). Choreographers are
expected to show CDC officers at least one minute of their choreography, and
also provide information about how many dancers they will want and what their
costuming needs will be. I still have
