Roles and Contributions of Council Members
In addition to the general roles and responsibilities described on the previous page, Advisory
Council members will be expected to provide specific expertise and support as listed below. The
center staff recognizes that member’s roles are not exclusive and that each individual serving
on the advisory committee has broad experience and expertise that will benefit the growth of the
center.
College of Education and Human Sciences Faculty
- Gather feedback and provide program perspectives which enable the CCLE to function synergistically with undergraduate and graduate teacher education initiatives on and off campus
- Disseminate the mission and vision of the CCLE on campus and in community, particularly local and regional educational agencies
- Identify and propose projects and activities which strengthen the center's contribution to local and regional education agencies
College of Arts and Science, College of Business, College of Nursing and Health Sciences Faculty
- Gather feedback and provide program perspectives which enable the CCLE to function synergistically with undergraduate and graduate initiatives in academic units outside the School of Education
- Identify and propose interdisciplinary projects that extend the scope of center activity beyond typical education agencies
- Disseminate the mission and vision of the CCLE to A&S, COB, and College of Nursing in particular and to the campus and surrounding community
Students
- Gather feedback and provide program perspectives which enable the CCLE to function synergistically with undergraduate and graduate initiatives in academic units outside the School of Education
- Identify and propose interdisciplinary projects that extend the scope of center activity beyond typical education agencies
- Disseminate the mission and vision of the CCLE to A&S, COB, and College of Nursing in particular and to the campus and surrounding community
UWEC Continuing Education
- Provide perspectives on adult education and market forces as a venue for CCLE program initiatives/programs of study
- Gather feedback and provide program perspectives which enable the CCLE to function synergistically with undergraduate and graduate initiatives developed or supported in the Office of Continuing Education
- Disseminate the mission and vision of the center to Continuing Education staff on campus and to similar agencies throughout the region
Regional Educators and Administrators
- Represent regional K-12 teacher and administrator perspectives and ensure that center activities are realistic contributions to the improvement of schools
- Contribute school-based strategic planning and evaluation practices that have the potential to strengthen the operation and contributions of the center
- Identify effective strategies for inviting, developing, and supporting school-based projects and communicating possibilities to K-12 educators
Community Members
- Provide K-12 school and regional perspectives that keep the center attuned to the socio-cultural contexts in which it operates
- Identify effective planning, communication and collaboration strategies that strengthen the capacity of the center to meet community and regional needs
- Disseminate the mission and vision of the center to area and regional agencies with interests in collaborative leadership development and teacher professional development
