Center for Collaborative Leadership in Education

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council will provide guidance and leverage to support the growth of the center and serve as a resource to the Center directors and staff. The advisory council includes university faculty and staff, alumni, and students as well as professionals involved in educational leadership endeavors. The members are accomplished leaders who are well-positioned to promote the mission and vision of the center and help build key relationships. Council members meet twice each year to review the current and proposed activities of the center, advise the Directors about the center's evolving focus, participate in formulating long-term goals and development strategies, and assist in acquiring or identifying funding sources.

Generally, Advisory Council members are expected to serve the following roles:

  • Advocating for the mission and vision of the center and thinking entrepreneurially about center initiatives
  • Identifying new contacts, funding sources, and resources that strengthen the functionality of the center
  • Modeling and sharing highest quality collaborative leadership ideas and practices
  • Assist in the development and integration of cutting-edge collaborative leadership ideas and practices into the goals and activities of the center
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of relationships with local, regional, and national/international agencies with interests in educational innovation
  • Helping the center maintain sensitivity to the social and cultural contexts and issues of just practice particularly in environments where priorities may differ from those of the center
  • Assuming focused leadership roles or serving on sub-committees to support specific center initiatives
  • Participating in strategic planning and periodic review of CCLE activities in ways that help the center achieve existing goals and set new directions

Advisory Council members will serve a three-year initial term that requires attending two meetings in Eau Claire and possibly participating in one or two tele-conferences each year. Additional individual meetings may be arranged as needed. Advisory council members are expected to assume all travel costs associated with attending meetings.
