Communication
Sciences and Disorders
Dr.
Tim Lippold is an
assistant professor in audiology. He received his Au.D. from the
Arizona School of Health Sciences-A.T. Still University in March
2005. He has 30 years of experience as an audiologist. Since 1988 he
has owned and operated a private audiology practice specializing in
hearing and dispensing and industrial hearing conservation. Dr.
Lippold is a Blugold, having earned his B.S. in Communicative
Disorders from UW-Eau Claire.
Foundations
of Education
Dr.
Jill Pinkney Pastrana is an
associate professor specializing in cultural and social foundations
of education. Dr. Pastrana earned her master’s and Ph.D. degrees
from UCLA in Education: urban schooling; Curriculum and Teacher
Studies: bilingual and comparative education: Latin American
Studies: urban planning, history and education. She has been
teaching at California State University, Long Beach and Universidad
de la Frontera, Temuco, Chile.
Kinesiology
Ms.
Cindy Albert is an
associate lecturer specializing in physical education and health.
Ms. Albert received her M.S. in Health Education from UW-LaCrosse in
1998. She has been a physical education and adaptive physical
education teacher and coach in the Altoona School District since
1991.
Dr.
Lance Dalleck is an
assistant professor specializing in human performance. Dr. Dalleck
received his Ph.D. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with
a concentration in Exercise Science for the University of New Mexico
in Albuquerque in 2003. Dr. Dalleck has been program director for
New Heart, Inc. in Albuquerque for the past two
years.
Mr.
Garry Grant is a
lecturer specializing in athletic training education. He will also
serve as the head athletic trainer in the athletics program. Mr.
Grant received his M.S. in Education from North Dakota State
University in 2002 and then became an instructor in the Physical
Education Department at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell,
South Dakota, where he was also the head athletic
trainer.
Dr.
Jeff Janot is an
assistant professor specializing in human performance. Dr. Janot
received his Ph.D. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with
a concentration in exercise science from the University of New
Mexico in Albuquerque in 2001. Dr. Janot has been an assistant
professor of exercise physiology at South Dakota State University in
Brookings since 2001. He has also been the technical editor for the
IDEA Fitness Journal
since 2002.
Social
Work
Ms.
Wanda Ryan is a
lecturer with a background in sociology, criminal justice, and
social work. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from the
University of Minnesota. She has experience working in a residential
facility for cognitively impaired adolescents and as a school social
worker at a day treatment program for adjudicated juvenile
delinquents. For the past 20 years she has worked with young people,
ages pre-school through 18 years old as a social worker.
Other
changes of note
Associate
Dean Pat Christopherson has
announced her retirement, effective January 2006, after 28 years of
service to UW-Eau Claire.
Dr.
Len Gibbs, Social
Work, is on sick leave until he retires in
mid-November.
Dr.
Jill Prushiek, Field
Experience Coordinator, will also become the Certification Officer
and Coordinator of PI 34 activities for the Teacher Education
Program beginning this academic year. Ms. Deb Moen, formerly the Program
Assistant in Curriculum and Instruction, has transferred to the
Program Assistant position that will be responsible for working with
certification activities in the Field Experience Office.
Ms.
Herlinda Pichette, LTE in
Curriculum and Instruction, began her departmental assistant duties
in August when Ms. Deb Moen, Program Assistant, transferred to the
vacant certification and licensure position. Ms. Pichette has worked
in the clerical/customer service field for approximately 20
years. She has been at UW-Eau Claire since February 2004,
starting in the Cashier’s Office and then moving to Academic
Advising/Nontraditional Student Services.
Ms.
Laura Short, Grant
Development Specialist, has resigned to accept a position as the
Executive Director of the regional Girl Scout office. We will
continue our collaboration with the Eau Claire Public Schools to
fill this position.
