Hormel Foods Team Project Lab

Hormel Foods Team Project Lab is a state-of-the art lab where small groups of students use web-based technology and software for problem-solving. Sitting at specially designed conference tables, students view and edit network-based presentations, proposals and data on 50-inch plasma screen monitors.

The room is used by graduate and undergraduate students taking accounting, business communications, finance, management, information systems, and marketing classes.

  • Catalyst ERP Package, a manufacturing productivity software package for small manufacturers that includes planning, scheduling, and inventory control capabilities
  • CPA Sample Exam, online CPA practice exams and information
  • CPA TestPrep, online CPA practice exams and information
  • Great Plains Accounting, provides functionality for financial management, project management, supply chain management, analytics, human resources and payroll, manufacturing, and e-commerce
  • IDEA, data analysis software used to satisfy financial statement auditing objectives, as well as serve as a tool for account reconciliations, basic data mining, fraud investigations, operational/ internal auditing, file transfers, and preparation of management reports
  • Lacerte, tax software
  • Macromedia DreamWeaver, web development software
  • Microsoft Office, Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, software used to visually design Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases and create reusable data access queries
  • NetOp Student, software that allows instructors to demonstrate any computer application on each student workstation simultaneously
  • Omnivex Player, allows remote control of all computer hardware from a centralized location
  • Oracle Client and Developer Tools, a database management system
  • SPSS, a statistical software package
  • Tax Wise, tax software
  • Visual Paradigm, a cross-platform visual UML modeling and CASE tool
