Participate in the 11th annual Blugold Sales Challenge

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire marketing students are invited to participate in the 11th Annual Blugold Sales Challenge, September 21 and 22. The event will be held on the UW-Eau Claire campus.

The Blugold Sales Challenge is open to any UW-Eau Claire marketing student. Prior sales experience, or completion of either the Professional Sales (Mktg 337) course or Sales Management (Mktg 432) course is not required. Students interested in competing should contact Jerry Kollross by Friday, September 7 to receive the sales scenario and support presentation materials.

The 2012 competition is supported by a $5,000 grant from Northwestern Mutual: The Bohannon Group.

The Blugold Sales Challenge is designed to expose students to a sales competition and give them professional feedback on their selling skills. Students will deliver a 20-minute sales presentation for NetSuite CRM software. Sales professionals from The Bohannon Group will judge presentations using the same scoring system used at sales competitions around the country.  Student participants will receive their evaluation sheets and will be given access to a digital recording of their role play to review and critique.

The top three contestants will be presented awards and the opportunity to represent UW-Eau Claire at the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up, November 8–10, 2012. Rank also will determine which students will participate in seven other sales competitions held around the country during the 2012-13 academic year. All participants will receive a Blugold Sales Challenge t-shirt. Students seeking the University Sales Center Alliance Certified Sales Student certificate will receive points towards the extracurricular experience requirement.

Important meeting of the 2012-13 UW-Eau Claire Sales Team

The UW-Eau Claire Sales Team will meet Tuesday, September 4 at 4:00 in Schneider Hall, Room 320. The Blugold Sales Challenge will be the focus of the meeting.

Coach Jerry Kollross will review the schedule for the event, answer questions about the sales scenario, sign up participants for presentation time slots, and get students’ t-shirt sizes.  Students also will be organized into practice teams and the procedures for using the sales lab for practice prior to the competition will be reviewed. 

Students should contact Jerry Kollross if they are unable to attend this meeting.
