Get Portable: College of Business Laptop Requirement

Beginning Fall 2009, all students enrolling in select College of Business courses must have access to a laptop computer that can be brought to class when there is in-class computer usage. Courses with this requirement will be noted in the online semester registration Class Schedules and in the 2009-2010 (and subsequent) catalogs. A list of these courses can also be found on the COB website.

Software	Microsoft Office 2007, Up-to-date virus protection
Memory	2 GB RAM
Hard Drive	160 GB
Multimedia	DVD-ROM/CD-RW Drive
Network	10/100 Base Ethernet (built-in) Interface
Wireless	802.11 B or G compatible
Modem	56K**

*If you already have a computer with Windows XP, this will also meet the requirement.
**A 56K modem is optional. It would only be used in situations where phone dial-up is the only option for Internet access.

FREE Tech Support Offered for Fall 2009 Laptop Requirement

Beginning Tuesday, September 8, Information Systems students will provide free laptop technology support in Schneider Hall Lobby on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00–8:00 pm, Wednesdays from 3:00–5:00 pm, and Fridays from 9:00–11:00 am. Students will provide assistance to make sure computers are ready for the requirement.

Get help:
• Connecting to wireless
• Loading software needed for class
• Downloading software off MSDN:AA

Tech support WILL NOT help with:
• Spyware/virus removal
• Hardware problems/troubleshooting
• Issues involving non-class related software
