Jian-yu (Fisher) Ke, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Management
Dr. “Fisher” Jian-yu Ke is an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Marketing where he teaches MGMT 341, Operations Management and MGMT 343, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. He graduated with a Ph.D. in supply chain management from the University of Maryland, College Park in August 2012.
Dr. Ke, who is originally from Taiwan, worked for DHL Taiwan as a research and planning manager in the marketing division of the international logistics corporation for seven years. In 2007, he came to the United States on a Taiwanese government scholarship. He studied for six months at M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA, where he took courses in supply chain management. He spent a year at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, where he completed an MBA degree with a major in supply chain management. He entered the PhD program at University of Maryland College Park in 2008 and graduated from the program in 2012.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Ke enjoys writing and traveling. He has his own blog (in Chinese) with about 120 articles about travel and Christianity. Dr. Ke and his family have visited many National Parks in the U.S. and Canada and have driven more than 4,000 miles on family trips the past three years. Since they have seen almost all the National Parks on the east coast, their future vacation plans include traveling to the National Parks in the Midwest and in the west.
