PSE hosts Midwest Regional Conference
The UW-Eau Claire chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE), the national, co-ed fraternity for collegians and professionals in sales, marketing and management, will host the PSE Midwest Regional Conference at UW-Eau Claire, October 18-21, 2012. Students from 13 collegiate chapters in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and South Dakota will attend the event. Participants will attend keynote presentations and participate in business development seminars, network with professional and collegiate members, and compete in events, such as the PSE Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon and the National speaker's competition.

9th Annual UW-Eau Claire Career Services Explore Your Possibilities, October 9-11
Explore Your Possibilities is an opportunity for you to learn about majors and career options. During this three-day event, Career Services offers over 30 panel discussions. At these workshops, you will hear from professionals about majors, career options, graduate school, and internships. Each session is 50-minutes long. All sessions are held in the Davies Center Ho-Chunk and Menominee Rooms. Pre-registration for workshops is requested (although drop in participants are welcomed.) All workshops are free.

Meet Jian-yu (Fisher) Ke, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Management
Dr. “Fisher” Jian-yu Ke is an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Marketing where he teaches MGMT 341, Operations Management and MGMT 343, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. He graduated with a Ph.D. in supply chain management from the University of Maryland, College Park in August 2012.

Accounting student to curl in China
UW-Eau Claire accounting major Julie Lilla will compete with the USA Women's Curling Team in Yichun, China, October 31-November 9, 2012 at the Yichun International Ladies Competition. Lilla, a senior accounting major from Trempealeau, WI, competed at five U.S. Junior National Curling Championships where she earned two silver and one bronze medal.
Thank you to all who participated in the AACSB International site visit. The College of Business will not be officially notified if its AACSB accreditation has been extended for an additional six years until spring 2013.

Upper-level IS students are offering tech support in the Schneider Hall Lobby to make sure your laptop meets College of Business laptop requirements.
Their Fall 2012 schedule is as follows:
• Mondays: 8-10 am, 1-3 pm

• Thursdays: 11-12 pm

Learn more about Chinese business etiquette by attending a two-week summer session at Jinan University, Zhuhai campus. As a student on this program, you will also experience the language, culture, and food in Zhuhai and Hong Kong. A combination of pre-departure lessons, on-site lectures, and tours of important business and cultural sites will give you an overview of China today.
